De Vere Venues

Has anyone stayed at a De Vere Venue on the £10 a night offer yet?
Some feedback would be good!

    Grab it while you can!
De Vere venues are good 3* business class hotels that are more designed for conference delegates but that have everything you could expect and want from a 3* hotel. Most of them, if not all, are lovely country house locations too.
  • We have stayed at the Mill and Old Swan in Minster lovell - it is a great getaway, but it is more of a wedding/conference venue as the other poster said, great location by the river though. The rooms were quite small, I would have been disappointed if I had paid the £150 quid full price!

The restaurant and pub was excellent as it was an actual pub, separate to the rest of the venue. I'm sure we spent enough there to make sure they were up on the cheap room deal though!

The Theobalds Park Hotel is lovely.

Sometimes it is easy to forget that it is only a 3 star hotel because of the decor and surroundings. With free tea and coffee on tap what more could you want?

I hope they put the £10 offer on again soon:D
  • We stayed at a De Vere hotel in Reigate and it was really nice. Will look for more bargains and go again.
  • I stayed at the De Vere Venue at New Place outside Southampton for three days just before Christmas.

For £10 it was absolutely fine, but I wouldn't describe it as a hotel.

The accommodation was in little two-storey blocks that resembled the more modern type of university halls of residence. The room I stayed was a single and it was about the size you would expect. The facilities in the room were fine, with a little travel kettle, iron, hair dryer, laptop safe and a free internet connection all supplied. There was also a decent sized LCD TV, but only the five terrestrial main channels as well as Sky 1 and The Vault, so not a great selection and the reception on some of the terrestrial channels was poor. The room was basically clean and tidy, though there were cobwebs on the smoke detector and the air vents were clogged with fluff, so some more thorough cleaning was needed. That said, the chambermaids came round quite early each day (10.00 - 10.30 am) and if anything they seemed a bit too keen in this respect.

The location was very nice, but at this time of year, you can't enjoy the countryside after 4 pm, so you are left with the facilites on site. These included a gym and jacuzzi, as well as the Manor House bar and restaurant. However, I didn't try any of the facilities or eat any meals, so I couldn't comment on this side of things.
