Sorry I think you have missed the lines "the biggest drop ever" & then the bit "if the economic recession turns out to be deeper, ..... fall more than the current prediction".

So with the biggest crash ever possibly going to get bigger due to economic conditions I think it is safe to say it could massively crash according to them. If you can find a bigger crash in hisory please tell me.:rotfl:

This is the right time to buy houses because of its low price. Lucky for those who save for the rainy days - though this is not a rainy day to be considered for the cash-wealthy, this is a good opportunity to spend the savings to a money-making buying spree.

    Whats that in your signature?

IIRC, the Mongolian economy contracted by about 40% in one week when the Russians pushed off.

"The annual forecast from Rics suggests that property sales may have bottomed out and could rise by 10% during 2009."

I wonder where people will get the money from if there are no mortgages and no jobs

Then how will prices rise if houses aren't selling?? Prices rise because there are more buyers than sellers.....and seeing as mortgages are down AGAIN than this time last year....new builds mortgages are even harder to get (impossible with some lenders) I think you'll find house prices will continue to fall...for now

You mean like your constant green shoot predictions over the last few months.:D

Just face it prices are crashing at a faster rate than most of the predictions.

I think thats just it Brit...some people can't face the fact that their house or BTL empire is going to be worth very little over the next couple of years.

A holiday home for the next 10 yrs then a retirement pad later.

Remember, this is a UK average and may not be happening in your area.
Some areas have increased in the last month.
It may be too early to say if these are indeed "green shoots" or "shafts of light" or if they are just a blip. The next few months could clear that up a little.

P.S. Brit, you need to update your sig a bit. LR is only down 10.1% YoY and 10.4% from peak
