I will buying new sofa at DFS - Any idea which:-

1. Finance Company they use &
2. Which credit reference agency that finance company uses

They use a panel of finance companys. With me I was put with Blackhorse . When I was in the store last year I overheard . a conversation with a member of staff speaking to a customer and saying that xxx company had declined them but they have been accepted by HSBC.

I ordered a new sofa last month and the credit is through HFC Bank. They certainly did a search with Experian.

When we bought at DFS 3 years ago our finance was through GE Capital. No idea which reference agency they use though.

I got a new sofa on finance with them, ordered end of August, and our finance is with G E Capital...I have only checked experian and the agreement is on there, not sure about the search tho.

mine is with Hitatchi , we got ours this november. not sure which credit reference company they use though.

Hi, Thanks for the replies -

I have been into DFS today and they are making my application through Hitachi Finance - At the moment it was on paper and they will process it later.

They ask me for Partners Name to put down on application. I kindly refused to provide that infor. They still done the application.

There is no problem with my or partners credit file but I dont want our files to be associated at the moment.

Will that affect my application? I never been asked to provide partners name with any other credit applications I have made previously.

I shouldnt think so, I was there with my husband when we ordered ours, and the finance is in my name only as he has a bad credit rating and I don't want us to be associated. The salesman didnt ask actually if I wanted his name on anything. HTH

Im tempted to purchase a new sofa on the 4 year interest free deal.

Is it still fairly easy to get credit on somthing like this at the moment?
