your certainly doing the right thing by keeping track of your readings.
They cant make you pay for energy used for a different meter so i suggest you write to your supplier (writing means you end up dealing with the same person and you dont have to keep explaining the problem)
tell them if its not sorted out in a month you will be writing to ofgem to sort the problem.
You may get automatically generated letters from time to time but dont let these worry you to much, write back giving them the details of the person who you are corresponding with and that is dealing with your dispute

it may take some time but you will get there

Why on earth do they give flat ridiculous names up there!!!
It does my head in! Transco will call the flat one name, The elctricity board another name, and the post office database another name! Then the systems we use will have another name altogether! It causes so many problems and headaches!

When building a flat why on earth would you call it Lower 1/2 G from back around the corner and to your left/3 ??? ... Or something similar!!

You need to be getting your Meter serial number and calling all company's involved for your own security, even thought you obviously shouldn't have to, just to make sure they are all up to speed with the situation. Prioratise with the company's that have your name, as they are the ones that can start to damage your credit file.

That said database is called ecoes (.co.uk) and as i work for a energy supplier, i have access but i dont think that it is available to joe public!!!!
