It's not great in Russia right now. My husband is working over there. He says that today the Russians he works with have been told that their daily rate is being cut by a third. The company he works for has already made 400 Russian workers redundant. Their Moscow office is now only being open 4 days a week. Land drilling has been postponed next year, as it's not viable to drill with oil prices being what they are right now - the jobs were priced when oil was $90 a barrel.0

I don't suppose that oil prices will stay down for long. The minute the recession starts to lift the price will go up with the increase in demand. In the meantime no doubt Basher Brown will slip a bit more on the tax in the hope that we will not notice.
They are making a big thing about wind power, but it seems to me that some serious emphasis should be put onto the development of tidal power. Unlike the wind, with tidal power you can predict exactly what the tidal flow will be at all times. I am not talking about wave power here, I am talking about underwater tidal flow driven propellers. Just like the wind generators, but underwater. Obviously they cost more to install, but you get a known return for the investment.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
