  • Boot into safe mode?

Please excuse my lack of intelligence here...

    1) How do I do that?

    2) Is there options to fix my laptop once in boot mode?

    Regards

  • 1) Boot up your computer
    2) When you get to your desktop hit ctrl-alt-del
    3) File -> New Task (run)
    4) Type msconfig.exe
    5) Select Diagnostic Mode
    6) Restart Now

BUT If you don't not have a Spyware or an anti virus software

Follow points 1, 2 and 3 then go

    4) Run iexplorer.exe
    5) Go to http://fileforum.betanews.com/download/Spybot_Search_Destroy/1043809773/1 and allow the download
    6) Install the program
    7) Go to http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html and download and install also you will need to register.

Once all this is done go back to the first list and start from
    2) When you get to your desktop hit ctrl-alt-del
    Buy for value not cost.

  • Hmmm

Right click and choose Refresh maybe

    Massive assumption:

1)Hit the windows key on your keyboard, it should be next to alt on the bottom left hand side.
2)Use the arrows keys or the mouse to get to get to the run function and use msconfig then put it into safe mode
    3) Use the computer you are using at the moment to download the programs and put them on a usb key

  • Nope, it's that dodgy virus i saw a couple months ago.

A system format and reinstall if the cheapest and quickest way around this.

You may need to ask a friend if they can pop your hard drive into a pc and hopefully back up a few files for you, as you won't have the option of USB drives either.

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news. but it will be impossible for you to sorty this if you are stuck asking what safe mode is. DO you have the original cd's that came with your laptop? Hopefully it's not just been installed in a partition on your hard drive for their cost cutting pleasure!!

Thank you for your help but none of this will work. Blooming laptop!!!
