16th Jan How much have you spent today?

Don't think anyone's started this thread today so here goes......

:(

I've spent £3.64 on posting ebay stuff and just found out from the garage that I will have to pay them £650 later to fix my car so I'm really depressed.

£650 for your car? Oh no!!! Whats wrong with it??

I havent spent anything so far today, but might buy a pair of jeans (£15), and will be going to the cinema tonight (unlimited card), and have lunch with me, so aside from the jeans (chances are I wont be able to get right size/leg length anyway!!) £0.00.

Payday is a week on Thursday, and am under budget - only spent £5 at the weekend (and I wasnt even trying not to spend much!!)..

My two free amazon CD's arrived today which is fab!! I love freebies (these were by buying two packs of post it notes & sending in bar code!).

Hi, I don't normally post on here but we had a huge repair bill with our car and even though it was out of warranty we rang the manufacturer and complained (Land Rover) and they agreed to pay for most of it. I believe that some manufacturers like to be loyal to their customers so that you will continue buying from them and so the first question we were asked was have we owned one previously to which we answered yes ( a porkie pie) they immediately offered to pay for all of the parts. I hope that helps and it would be worth giving them a call, it saved us a heap of money.

Thank you, sadly our car was bought second hand and has to do quite a lot of mileage for my husband's work so no chance of this for us. Certainly something I'll remember in future though if we can get into the position to buy new. Every time our car goes in I dread it cos I know it will cost a fortune, only last summer the ABS went plus it failed its MOT so that was almost £1000 .

Today it needs replacement exhaust, 2 new tyres and front brake pads which doesn't sound like much really and it's gone to the local garage who are supposed to be cheap but still £650!

I won't increase the debt (as I have many times before) to pay for it but it will have to come out of the £1000 I had put aside for when I buying a second car when I start work again.

Like my husband just said to me on the phone it feels like we're always wading through treacle when it comes to money  .

I know how you feel about your car - that's why I bought a new one two years ago, although i am stillpaying it off at least nothing goes expensively wrong with it.

I've only spent about 40p today until I go to Tesco tonight, but yesterday I went to take a Xmas pressie back to M&S butit's been reduced to £9 :( so need to get receipt off ym aunt, and then went into Schuh and spent £95 on a pair of boots!!!!!!

I might take them back but they are lovely and I did work a night shift on Saturday so have earned the money to pay for them......quick! someone help me justify this spending!

Oh yeah, and have spent £32 on Topshop website topday buying another pair of shoes that I can fit my orthotics in (necessary spend on summer shoe).

  • Really sorry about the car ITR, that's such a bummer ((hugs)). I remember when I took my car for a service last summer it come to £330 (needed other things done to it *allegedly*) which I thought was horrific!!

Anyway, today I went to Homebase and spent £14.99 for a nice new griddle pan, £1 for 3 rolls of good quality Xmas wrapping paper, and £1.49 for a 'super strength' pritt stick.

I always feel depressed when I go to Homebase cos there are so many nice things in there that I can't afford! Most of it is overpriced anyway!

Christ, my car is only worth £500! lol.

Ive spent about £5 today, but spent about £2000 over the weekend on home improvements. (new door/windows/bathroom). Doing all the work on the bathroom myself, so saved £4000 over what my neighbours paid on theirs for the same!
  • i have spent nothing today :j

Nothing yet - but have a £15 cheque to give to my son's Judo instructor later.

Also, some parcels to post, but thats not costing me anything, as they are ebay ones, so postage paid.
