Seems like after is popular, but all my recipes for roast duck (we're having duck) say rest for max 20 mins. Hmm. Your duck will be fine if you rest it for longer. Don't worry about it going cold, all will be well :-)
We had our Xmas dinner this evening and rested the turkey for nearly an hour - as long as it took to get all the other bits and pieces cooked. There's no exact right time to rest a bird (or a joint of any meat) - that flexibility, giving us time to get the rest finished off, is the Xmas Fairy's present to us :-D0
