MP3 format files?

Help, have bought 2 mp3 players from Ebay for kids xmas. Have loaded music on and it won't play. Definatley power etc as flashing light.
Have emailed seller and they are asking if they are MP3 files? I have got .wma files (loaded straight from cd onto pc onto mp3 player). Is this the right format? This is what we did for a different player.
Have emailed seller back , but don't know how long it will take for him to respond. (Getting desperate now incase I need to find replacement gifts :eek: )
Thanks

A lot of MP3 players will not play .wma files (i'm guessing you used MS media player to do this?) WMA is just a different music file format, and generally less supported by portable music players.
Why don't you download this (http://www.download.com/Easy-CD-DA-Extractor/3000-2140_4-10018859.html) and re-rip those CDs into mp3 format?0 -
easiest thing to do is to put a cd into your pc and use some free software like this;
https://www.freerip.com
to "rip" the CD to mp3 files.0 -
What are the make and models of the mp3 players?0

If you use Windows Media Player 11, why not re-rip them in MP3 at a high bit rate and reload them onto the players, WMA is just windows version of music compression, an alternative to MP3. If you can tell us what operating system and music software you use, we should be able to 'talk' you through it.You can't rely on a lottery win to pay off your debts....or a long lost aunt come to that;)0

Thanks all!
They work like a dream now - I could kiss you all! (Festive spirit must be getting to me!). Am just so relieved I decided to preload some music, rather than leaving them to Christmas day for the children to choose their own.
Hope you all have a wonderful hassle-free christmasNow proud Mumto3 :j0
