Egg savings account

I opened my egg savings account, and paid a £2000 deposit into the account from my current account with HSBC.

Checked my egg savings account and it says i have + £2000 in my account,

Checked my HSBC account a day later and no money has been taken out of my account.

Whats going on ?

If you paid by debit card then Egg credit this straight away to your savings account but it takes a few days to leave your current account.

Don't worry nothing is wrong.

On the contrary you are earning interest on the £2000 already and you still have it in the bank. ;D

I have recently opened the on line saver account but finding it difficult to deposit any money.

Every time I log in the screen reports that it impossible to access my account due to essential maintainence.

Has any one else encountered this or is it just me?

The site is working fine now. In the old days, the Egg website used to be very slow but it has improved quite a bit over the last few months. Transfers in and out of the savings a/c (by debit card and BACS respectively) are very fast and efficient, I've found.
