Do you need to be in Camber? Hastings is pretty close by and far more to do there than Camber? Hastings also has travellodge/travel inn you could use.

Rye is the nearest town to Camber, but Hastings the nearest travellodge. Rye is a beautiful old town, quite small, quite pricy B+B wise I would expect.

Hastings to Camber Sands is about 40mins.

If you want more info on what to do in the area besides Camber Sands, let me know. I grew up in Hastings and still go back every few months to visit me mum and sis.

I'm sure Camber Sands is covered by The Sun holidays.

  • Plenty of small local B&Bs, farmhouse B&Bs and self catering in the surrounding area. I think you'd find it slightly cheaper to be out of Camber itself, as you probably pay more to be "in Camber".

Rye, as mentioned. Battle or Tenterden would also be a good base.

The High Weald doesn't include Camber, but borders it fairly closely. You can get details of accommodation here but you'll need to check the location or do a search by village/town.

Rye visitor information is here, Battle here and Tenterden here.

Do you have children? If so, plenty of days out - Battle Abbey has event for kids; a trip on the Kent & East Sussex steam railway, stopping off at Bodiam Castle; The Rare Breeds farm or Farmworld ..... enough to keep children occupied if a day on the beach is not suitable.

I live in the area so shout if you want to know anything specific.

    :)
