May need to cancel holiday

My son was seriously injured Friday and as such we may have to cancel our booked holiday to Florida on 6th Jan.

Although he is out of danger now, would we be eligible to cancel and get a refund based on this?

More than likely, yes - he's unlikely to be fit to travel which is what the insurance company will be looking at. Discuss it with them first.

If he's not booked to travel with you then the situation is a little greyer - definitely ask them first.

You should be covered by your Travel Insurance, give them a call.

As all the above it should be a classic case of call and collect.

Some years back my friends son broke his leg prior to their holiday and whilst they had the excess to pay they did get a full refund.

Have a very good read of your policy before contacting them.
There may be a need for you to be around to assist with recovery.

The worst case here is, If you have NO Travel Insurance.

Then you would not get a 'Penny':mad:

But I pressume you have insurance like most people, So your insurers should make arrangements for you.

You could contact your 'TOP' Tour Operator and possibly arrange another Departure Date?

Instead of Cancelling the WHOLE holiday, And creating more paperwork, Confusion etc.

Because sadly in THIS Country Nobody does anything right anymore.:rolleyes:

And make 5 jobs out of 1 job:mad:

And at a time like this you need FULL support.
