Is now a good time to buy a Toyota? They have just announced losses. Has anyone bought one recently and been able to get a good deal because of economic climate?

I'm looking to buy a Corolla Verso after Christmas. Someone on another forum pointed me towards the Bristol Toyota dealership who are selling 57 reg with 10 - 15k on the clock for 9k. Unfortunately out of my price range but I'm hoping to be able to use this to negotiate a much better deal with my local dealership who are charging the same amount for a 55 reg with about 30k on the clock.
  • Could be a useful sales ploy, lots of product placement on the 6 o'clock news and lots of internet chat=lots of people through their doors like with Woollies.
Our local dealer has taken to selling some ropey-looking second-hand rubbish to keep his forecourt looking full.

And woolies sale is a load of crap. Hardly anything reduced to any appreciable level. All I came away with was a 12" desk fan for under a fiver and some double boxes of cadburys fingers for 70p each.
