Hi,
Can anyone please tell me what the difference between a XD Picture Card and a M XD Picture Card is? Images below. Also which one would be compatible with the Olympus Mju 400 camera. This camera is in fact a discontinued model therefore no info can be found on the Olympus website.

Thanks for any help!

Looks like the Olympus MJU 400 requires an XD card... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/electronics/B000087QQ6/system-requirements/ref=ed_tec_dp_2_1/203-8846449-31863190

MLC technology doubles the amount of information that can be stored in a single memory cell, increasing storage capacity and cost effectiveness. Type M cards can transfer data at up to 4.0MB/s for reading and 2.5MB/s for writing.0

Wow, thanks for that quick response matt, much appreciated.
Had a look at those links, however i'm none the wiser on which 512MB card would work in this camera, M or a normal one. Your post refers to a 1GB M xD-Picture Card, however, I'm looking for a 512. Apologies for my ignorance....I am very technically challenged  ....no joke
Thanks again for your help.0 -
M means it will work in a Microdrive aswell like in a Cam Corder or
a 7 in 1 PC Floppy slot.. well more efficiently anyhow as its designed
with Microdrives in mind.0 -

Thanks for that intel.
I'm assuming by that statement that an M xD Picture card only has advantages then...i.e. not only will it work in my camera, but also in microdrives, etc as opposed to the normal xD card.0 -

Ah, one last question regarding this topic that slipped my mind...
Are the transfer (read & write) speeds of both cards identical, better, worse?0 -
