  • I'm not surprised. Good concept, but the same sort of teapots, mugs, etc, every year. Feel a bit guilty accepting all the little free drinks offered every day in the High St, but, then again, many just pass by ignoring the offerings.

The Bauger meltdown has started...and I am going to enjoy the shaudenfraude....sorry...I confess, I confess...it makes me feel better about things
  • Who else do you think is going down? I saw that The Pier is under administration, and that saddened me.

The High Street is going to look awfully miserable once the 15 have gone.

  • Where does it say that it has gone into administration - the website seems to be fully functional.

Hopefully those that have a good underlying business will continue in one form or another.

I have to say I've never bought anything in Whittards. Oh, yes I did, one syrup once from the shop on The Strand. Waterstones I've bought books from occassionally but tend to get them from Amazon. Not bought from LA for years. Didn't know they were still going! Never bought from the Pier but love looking at their stuff. Thing is most of it was dust collectors and the rug I once liked so expensive I couldn't afford it (probably worth it as it was made really well)

This High Street domination cannot have been good, surely.
