I haven't seen this mentioned, and I thought some here would be interested. The BBC have announced a new BBC iPlayer Desktop application which uses Adobe AIR and is compatible with both Mac OS X and Linux.

Mac users can take advantage of the fact that iPod/iPhone media supplied by BBC iPlayer is DRM free meaning it doesn't expire after 30 days. There is iPlayer downloader software available for the Mac which allows these iPhone/iPod files to be downloaded.0
