Apologies if this has been posted previously - nothing found on a quick search.
The following e-mail just popped into my inbox:
Dear Customer
In October, the UK Treasury took action to protect your savings, transferring all individuals’ savings balances from Kaupthing Edge to ING Direct and we’re delighted to have you as one of our 21 million customers worldwide.
ING Direct is currently working with the appointed Administrator to manage your account(s) whilst preparing for the next stage in the process which is to transfer them onto ING Direct systems. This transfer will happen in the New Year which means that you will then be able to access your account(s) via our award winning website and UK Call Centres.
You do not need to do anything now. We will contact you again in the New Year confirming the timeframe for the transfer of your account(s) to our systems. In the meantime, you can continue to use your Kaupthing Edge account(s) as normal.
On behalf of ING Direct I would like to take this opportunity to extend the very best of the Season’s Greetings to you and your loved ones and wish you a prosperous New Year.
Yours sincerely

If this is so, I hope they are not going back on their pledge to honour KE fixed term deposit rates.0

Does this mean we will become ING savings customers and therefore no longer eligible for new (to ING) customer incentives? If so, I'll withdraw my funds now and close the KE account.0
