Advice on paypal reversed charge for item I sold

Options
Sorry if this in the wrong place but I need some advise.

I sold an item on eBay & buyer paid with Paypal. Buyer has left postive feedback saying item is great so it looks like they have received it ok.

I received an email about a week ago saying that the buyer or their bank had reversed the payment, & I've just received another email today saying paypal has given them their money back so I have no item & no payment!

As I didn't send via Recorded then paypal won't do anything is there anything else I can do or threaten to do? Should I contact the police, would they be able to do anything? I will send the buyer an email & want to word it rather strongly but I want to make sure I get my facts straight before I do this.

Any advise appreciated.

I thought there was an option to dispute a chargeback if positive feedback was received, they certainly can't say they didn't receive it. I think you need to find out why chargeback was initiated before doing anything

Theres more chance of help on the E Bay board, maybe a mod will move it there for you.
But dont hold your breath, theres a lot of discontent with pay pal and charge backs, lots of frightening stories too

No there was no option to dispute the chargeback.

Paypal emailed asking for further info of name, address, email address & item details, I provided all of this by email including saying the buyer had left positive feedback etc. They then replied saying that eBay feeback wasn't a reliable source & emails can be changed so asked me to fax a copy of the proof of posting. I emailed back saying I don't have access to a fax machine a couple of days ago & today I get an email saying they have granted the refund to buyer!
