An appeal to all of you wonderful Old Stylers..................
Has any one got an authentic recipe for kebab sauce??? I'm making Lamb kebabs for tea tonight and would love some of the creamy spicy sauce to serve with it. I haven't got the faintest idea as to how I go about making it and I wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction???
Many thanks in advance!!!

I think this could well be one of those questions which doesn't have a definitive answer as every kebab house I know serves a different sauce, often offering a choice from several

The ony one I can think of is Sate Sauce? This is based on peanut butter and chilli. The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

I just know it's a salmon pink colour and it's nicely spicy. Possibly has garlic too?? Not much help I know, but I really haven't got a clue how to begin with this!!0 -
I think smokey's got it right; sounds very similar to what we get from the local kebab place.

If you mean that chilli sauce they put on kebabs I saw them make that in the back of a kebab shop once.
It was made out of really finely grated raw carrot, a purreed tin of tomatos and purreed chilli.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
I found a recipe once in a magazine for peanut sauce which the Hard Rock Cafe use. It's really easy.
warm some crunchy peanut butter in a saucepan (about 1/2 a jar)
then add some sweet chilli sauce
then add some cream - 1/2 a cup should do but use your judgement
I also add some lemon juice to give it a bit of tang0 -
Should have read the 2nd post!!!!
Not sure what the Kebab shops use.0 -
Thanks for all your help, I think though, they'll just end up with sweet chilli sauce instead, but I shall bookmark all suggestions for future use0
