Cental London to Stratford upon Avon

I've been Money Tipped!
I have to get my OH from central london to Straford upon Avon in a short period of time (about 3.5 hours).

He is in London for the day and has an Oyster Card, so we were thinking the the best option will be for him to get on the tube and go to a outter london staion where I pick him up in the car and drive him up to Stratford (where we will both be staying).

I will be coming down via the M1, but the key ios the speed getting him up to Stratfor, he will leave LOndion at about 5.30 pm and we need to be Stratford about 8.30 - 9, allowing for traffic where would be the best place to pick him up for the shortest/fastest journey up. I know a lot of London, but not the west side, any advice would be appriciated.

Hillingdon is I think better than Uxbridge if you are coming by car - it's straight off the A40. On the same line.

I'll come down the M1 and around :) At least I can look at the map now to get a good idea, is either more congested?

It's simple: London Marylebone to Stratford direct by train in just over 2 hours.

When i was working in london, i used to leave the works van at uxbridge station & get the tube into london, it was so easy for getting home on a friday. I'm sure it used to take us just over an hour to reach the end of the M40.
