Apologies if this is already on the boards but it didn't come up in a search.
OH union sent all members a letter as follows?
The year before tax credits were introduced thee was a different non means tested allowance available which was never advertised by the Inland Revenue called Children's tax Allowance for 2002/3
You need to ring HMRC on 0845 302 1471 to enquire whether you've received this allowance and what action you need to take.
you are eligible to claim £520 allowance if:
Check your P60 if you have it for 2003. If it ended in H or T you have already had the allowance.

- The child lived with you for all or part of 2002/3
- you wored and pay tax for all or part of 2002/3
- you or your partner earned £6k+ in 2002/3

sorry just thought I would let you know that I rang our local tax office on friday and they are sending me out the form 11ctc to complete. You can print from screen but mine was working at the time.

I put children's tax allowance 2002/3 in a search and nothing came up yesterday. Just tried it again today and got only 6 entries.
