Very Short Term Saving

Hello,

I've never been a saver, as my first paragraph will highlight, therefore i was after a little bit of advice.

I currently have £6K on a 0% Credit Card until November '09, I can pay off approx. £1K a month so will have it covered by June at the earliest with a bit of a 'buffer' if needs be. (My mortgage deal is up in July so hopefully looking to have it cleared by then)

My question is, is it worth putting the money i am going to pay off into a Savings Account for 11 months while paying off the minimum amount or is this period of time too short to get any of the real benefits and i might as well just clear the card!

Steve

If you're a taxpayer, you could consider opening a Cash ISA. It might save you a few pounds not to have your interest taxed.
  • I'll have a look into that. I'm presuming that a 'bog-standard' savings account would not be worth it from an interest sum for such a short period of time?
