Not got this model, but my mum has a similar acer (not a heavy user) and she loves it, the keyboard keys are nice and clear to read for her.
Re: the company, my BIL was very impressed with their service, when his was faulty last year, they came and picked it up, then returned 2 days later, and were very helpful. hth0 -

We purchased an Acer Aspire 1500 series laptop about 5 years ago, it is still going strong despite a few problems with the power connector and lcd backlight. (it was dropped which caused the faults).
I have just replaced a HP DV9000 series laptop which had no end of problems in the first 6 months, with another Acer model, a 7720G.0 -
ive just brought a ASUS one after much deliberating its £342 in staples and got 3gb RAM and 160gb Hard drive so plenty its also got webcam etc
worth popping to staples for and make sure if you buy from them you get something thrown in after i tried bargaining and they said no i asked if they could chuck something in and they offered a skin and mouse.Mortgage at start of MFW £101416.74(27yrs)
original payment £459.67, new payment £550.00
overpaying by £90.33 ( reduces term to 21yrs !!)
Saved over £11K in interest so far WOOHOO!!
Were not rich just paying off tiny bits here and there.0 -
How about:
HP 6735s Laptop, AMD Turion X2 Dual Core RM-72 2.1Ghz, 4GB 800DDR2, 250GB 15.4" DVD RW LightScribe Writer, WLAN, Webcam, Bluetooth 2.0+, Onboard ATI Radeon HD3200 Windows Vista Home Premium, MSO rdy (60 day trial or 25 uses)
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152233
Slightly lower spec CPU, marginal though, same RAM, same HDD, slightly lower spec GPU, marginal though
Was £499.99
Save £100.04
Now £399.95inc vat
So save £50.
I've had an acer and the mobo's been replaced once in 3 years. Other than that nothing major has gone wrong with it. It's a tough call, they're pretty much the same laptop really.
I do note the Acer doesn't have bluetooth whereas the HP does...0 -
