I know not many people have to buy equipment for a recording studio (particularly not as Xmas presents) but I got my OH a headphone amplifier from Dragon Audio. When he opened it at Xmas, the manufacturer had put in a European power adaptor by mistake. The lovely people at Dragon Audio responded to my email between Xmas and New Year, trying to source an adaptor from their warehouse. When they couldn't, they kept me informed as they contacted the supplier, and got the right adaptor sent out direct. Then I returned the incorrect adaptor - and they refunded my card for the cost of the postage!
It's odd, I guess you could say that this is what they were obliged to do, but they were so prompt, helpful and informative about what could have been a nightmarish postal exchange that I was very chuffed with them. I'll definitely go back to them next time I need studio equipment
