Can I get my money back?

Last year (this time last year), I signed up with Easy Internet Solutions for my website.
Since then I've stopped trading.
However, I recieved a email on the 14th Jan, from World Pay, saying they had taken £35 from my account for my subscription.
I got onto Easy Internet Solutions Billing Department. And stated that as I stopped trading last year, I would like to cancel my subscription and get my money back for this years subscription, as I would not be using it.
The reponse I got was
"Refund Required
I have now cancelled the futurepay agreement 2417435 and we will take no monies in future regarding this account. However, we are not able to provide a refund as the service provision for this period has already commenced. Your account will automatically stop, unless you manually make further payments, on the 13th of Jan 2007."
So I'm not going to get my money back for this year, I bascially only used them for 3 days this year and got charged £35.
What are my rights? Does any one know. Or do I just have to leave it?

Have a look at the terms and conditions. It is fairly normal for annual subscriptions to be automatic unless you cancel in advance. If there is nothing in the T&C's about part year refunds, then sounds as if there's nothing due back to you. Just a thought though, did you authorise a continuous charge to your credit card or just a one-off - you probably need to see your original paperwork when you first paid to see. If it was only a one-off, they would have no right to automatically take the renewal from your credit card regardless of what their T&C's said.0

Same happened to me I would highly recommend anyone against using them, they provide almost no customer support, you must go through the pain that is "A ticket system" only to have them copy and paste a standard reply that has nothing to do with your question.
If you do get a real response they will act arrogantly and close your ticket.
Easy Internet Solutions and DIYHost are not worth the time, let alone £60 for a year.
I hope they go bust, I really do.0 -
You could check the Consumer Protection (Unfair Contract Terms) regulations to see if anything there applies.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0
