Matched betting is fine as a hobby, but I wouldn't rely on it as a long term strategy for financial stability.

To get your £300 per month, you need to post up your SOA and go through each and every thing that you spend with a fine tooth comb. Also, have you looked at remortgaging over a longer term to cut down.It will cost you more in the long term, but if it's the difference between being able to keep your house or not, then perhaps it may be worth lookig into - unfortunately many of the deals out there at the moment are rubbish, so you'd need to shop around.

I think long term I should be able to get my Avon earnings up, but it's a stategy for about the next 6 months that I really need, which could be the MB from the sound of it. My SOA is pretty tight as it is, as I'm repaying debts so don't really spend anything if I can avoid it. Hopefully with a lodger and MB, I should be able to carry on, repay my debts and keep my house.

i did my first match bet yesterday and it worked out fine. only made £6.50 profit but i was just doing a small one to get used to it.

i am going to do a few more over christmas and then hammer it in jan when i get used to it.

i am sure you can make lots of money from it but you need a bit of cash to get going.
  • Thanks, I'll give it a shot next week I think
  • I started MB with £250, I havent done it for quite a few months for one reason or another though, have drawn quite a lot out, and have about £1500 still in my accounts
  • What would the minimum start up be, I don't have a lot of spare cash at all!

There are ways to make money online but they are a bit slow and don;t pay that well but it would be a start things like Free daily scratchcards, dooyoo, slice the pie etc

    Hi Human123

The 'Make £10 a Day Challenge' is over on the Debt-Free Wannabe board. The link to the current December thread is HERE although I suspect the January challenge will be up and running soon!

Have a read through the first post in that thread for lots of useful information on making an extra tenner every day. :)

I started with £150 but if you start by going after the smaller bonuses then you will be able to probably get away with about £100 to start up.

To be honest, i would start with a bigger float then that which obviously might be a problem for the OP.

If you happen to "win" a few bets before clearing the WR on some sites then you will need more in the betfair account to cover further bets before you can withdraw the cash.

To the OP, your money is NEVER actually at risk but can end up being in limbo for a day or two depending on your bank.
