£300 a month needed

Hi,
This is a bit of a bizarre one. I'm having huge issues with my OH and am considering splitting in the near future. We own our house together, but he will not fight me for it as I have paid pretty much everything towards it. My big worry is paying for everything and getting rid of my debts too.
I have a really decent full time job, do mystery shopping and also do Avon, so I'll only need another £300 to get by. My parents will sub me, but obviously that's not a long term option.

Anyone any ideas, I have a dog so I can't be out too much at night as she is alone most of the day. I'd really prefer it to be home-based.

Thanks
Vicki

  • Sounds like you are still to have a look at matched betting?

Go to the Gambling Loophole forum and there is alot of explanations on how to do it.

May seem a bit intimidating at first if you dont know about gambling but there are plenty of females that do it on the forum also and is quite straight forward once you read it through.

If you have a look at Donglemouses diary you will see it is quite feasable to make almost £1000 per month doing this!
  • IS the house big enough to have a lodger?
  • I've not done matched betting, looked into it but got really confused!

I could get a lodger, there is a spare room, so that could be an option, but would my mortgage let me, and how much can I charge?

Is the lodger discussion so should give you an insight.

As for matched betting, it is relatively simple, just take your time, and dont do anything you are unsure of, the guys on the board are really helpful.

The way to get a feel of it would be to have a trial run, use pretend money on a couple, so you know how the whole process works. Then before placing your first real matched bet, post the odds and what you think you need to do to carry out the match correctly, and people will confirm you have it right or wrong, which will wither show you how to correct it, or give you the confidence to start.

Theres real good money to be made MB, just be careful and dont rush. Just remember its not gambling, and as long as you are careful, you cant lose :)
  • That does sound like it would help a lot! The reason I've stayed with OH so long is financial, so if I'm confident I can make the money, think I can finally do it. Will have a shot at the MB when I'm off over Christmas and have time to be careful
  • I see you do Avon - so why not try and get a bigger area to cover so you get more customers? put your books into offices and factories etc this might increase your income!

Good luck been exactly where you are many years ago and was best thing I ever did - Freedom (lol)

Thanks. I laready cover about 250 houses and a few other places, and am also a sales leader, so am hoping that increases the money soon, I get about £200 from that at the moment, but don't think I can get the additional £300 I need on top of that.

Thanks for the comment as well, I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing and wont do anything until after Christmas (it would be mean to him), but can see light at the end of the tunnel now!

There is a potential to make quite a bit via matched betting but beware that you understand it fully. As Darlo has already stated make sure that you post what you end up doing because if you make a mistake(and it can be easily done) you could be hugely out of pocket as well.
  • Oh as an afterthought, with regards to match betting, concentrate on the football, its easier to avoid mistakes, it will also be the way to get yourself comfortable with how things work.

Matched betting is fine as a hobby, but I wouldn't rely on it as a long term strategy for financial stability.

To get your £300 per month, you need to post up your SOA and go through each and every thing that you spend with a fine tooth comb. Also, have you looked at remortgaging over a longer term to cut down.It will cost you more in the long term, but if it's the difference between being able to keep your house or not, then perhaps it may be worth lookig into - unfortunately many of the deals out there at the moment are rubbish, so you'd need to shop around.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."
