    Congratulations!

Just to let you know I picked up a really nice dress from Debenhams last week for £50!

We're doing the same as you and seeing where and when we can book a place in Jan.

  • Congratulations BUT if you're looking to be moneysaving you'd be better off with a different date. You'll get MUCH better deals if you don't pick a peak time.

We got married in February 2007 and it was much cheaper than a summer wedding because the suppliers we used were happy to have bookings!

  • Congratulations!! :D

I wanted to suggest to look at a different date too. The reason being I got married 'out of season' - 5 November which was also a Wednesday and we saved a fortune at the venue.

    Hiya,
Just looked at your original post again and thought I'd share my idea.
Instead of going for expensive floral centerpieces I've got some nice little wicker baskets. They're plain at the moment but a bit of ribbon and a square of material to line it and they're transformed. I paid about 85p each for them and plan to fill them with sweets so guests can scoff them during the speeches, and later on if there are any left. We are having a late ceremony, 3pm, and then speeches, and then a huge fork buffet for everyone, so the sweets should go down well.
I also got a little heart shaped paper cutter thingy, two in a pack for £1 at Wilkinsons, and used all the left over trimmings from making my invitations to make table confetti.
  • Burtons has a good sale on on mens suits atm good stuff and pretty cheap!
