I got one of these second hand off ebay a couple of months back, to give to someone for christmas.
It was working fine when I got it - I had a good play and there were no problems. It's been sitting in the box since then, so the battery ran down, and now I've recharged it the stylus isn't working properly - changes things sometimes but not all the time.
I've done a soft reset in the thingy at the back which hasn't made any difference, does anyone have any other suggestions? (to save me hitting the shops for another prezzie tomorrow.)
Thanks

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

If it just has the standard Palm applications on it, try a hard reset:

I ~think~ if you have any non-standard applications loaded on it you will lose them and have to re-install them.0 -
Before you do a hard reset - did you try recaibrating the screen? Inside Prefs somewhere.0

Not sure I can - the screen isn't working to get into preferences - tapping away with the stylus and the top half of the screen is now working, but still nothing on the bottom half. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

When you do a hard reset (and possibly a soft reset - I can't remember now) the first thing it asks you to do is to tap on several points on the screen.
That's what almillar means by "recalibrating the screen".
Did you get through that step successfully?
There are a couple of problems that might explain what you're seeing - one is "touchscreen drift" and the other is partial failure of the touchscreen. Hopefully all you have is the former, which is just a minor inconvenience. The latter probably can't be fixed cost-effectively.0 -
I get the target asking me to touch the centre of it, on various places on the screen, but nothing much happens when I do - I'm going to have one more go, then I'll recycle it in the bin!
Thanks for all the suggestions, guys, it was worth a try.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
