Is it likely that easy access accounts will remain competitive?

I am trying to decide whether to go fixed rate savings or leave it easy access.
It seems the likes of Tesco (particularly Tesco ), Alliance and Leicester etc are still offering good rates but i am wondering how long they will be around for?
Would it seem that they will continue to offer good rates in order to be competitive or drop with the rest?
