Hi everyone,
I have been reading MSE for a while but this is my first post.
We have developed a problem with one of our laptops, which I think, from a Google search, is the Zlob trojan.
The machine is running very slowly, with constant IE pop-ups (both websites and ones that look like system messages asking me to download software...obviously I've always just closed these windows and not clicked 'ok'!) and it wont allow me to make changes to the system such as turning on Automatic Updates. The message pop-ups mention downloading Antivirus2009, which when put into Google makes it sound as if we have this Zlob trojan, which I think we got through MySpace (my other half uses it A LOT for his band).
I have tried to follow several guides on how to get rid of this, but to no avail...no results come back when I search for affected files and no processes mentioned in the guides come up in Task Manager.
Does anyone have any advice at all? I can't download any software onto the machine to help because when it is connected to the internet, we just get innundated with internet explorer windows popping up and the machine crashes.
We have up to date McAfee on the machine so I'm really disappointed that we're in this situation!
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Guide to How to remove Antivirus pro 2009

you will need access to a Clean PC to do the downloads and burn them to a CD or put them on a USB drive so that you can copy to the infected PCEx forum ambassador
