I have an APC unit which needs new batteries. Does anybody know if its ok to use UPS batteries which have not been made by APC? There is a big difference in price and in these tough times I could certainly do with the savings. All comments are welcome.

How old was your APC ups ?
They replaced the battery in mine FOC after I complained that it was not holding its charge.
I had had it about 10 months so in theory it was under warranty.0
