Working holiday in New Zealand - what does DD need to do?

Had a message from DD via facebook (seems to be the way we communicate) and she's discovered that she'll need a medical to extend her working holiday visa but it would cost 550 NZ dollars, which seems an awful lot. I'll have to check the details - I've downloaded the medical form - but if that's the case we'll have to think her staying on and working as she won't have that sort of money spare, so it would mean her dad and I contributing.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0
