I've a feeling this could be the same bike as we have just bought for my 7 year old granddaughter. A pink Apollo bike with 20" wheels (7 to 9 years) old, purchased from Halfords. I'm guessing as I couldn't get your link to work.
My OH assembled the bike last night and found that one side of the brakes wouldn't work correctly, the wheel wouldn't run freely when brake released. Also the sixth gear wouldn't engage and there was a puncture in the rear tyre. He also found that the instructions were next to useless.
Today we returned the bike to our local Halfords (10 miles away) and a very helpful lad sorted everything out. There were a couple of other customers returning bikes while we were waiting, and one or two were demonstrating to the assistants that the back wheels were failing to run freely. A common problem.
