Trouble opening microsoft files

I have just loaded microsoft office 2007 onto my pc for my DD.
She has a document in MS word 2007 and has tried to upload it onto her school homework website, after it has loaded on the file cannot be opened, it is unknown? The document ends in docx. Any ideas about this?

have just tried that and doesnt work as it isnt sending the email with the conversion

Google works really well for this sort of thing. Do this:

and the result will be your daughter's homework saved in Word97-2003 format. Upload that file - job done.

When you create a new document that will be used in a previous version, you can turn on Compatibility Mode by saving the file in Word 97-2003 format.

1. Open a new document.
2. Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Save As.
3. Select Word 97-2003 Document in the Save as type list.
4. In the File name box, type a name for the document.
