Morning all,
My 12 year-old Primera won't start this morning.
Would someone be kind enough to pop round and fix it for me? I'm in Walsall, but I've got a meeting in Birmingham in -5 minutes  , so can you really, really, hurry?
Cheers,
MBE
Oh yeah....dunno what it's problem is
it seems to be turning over ok, but it just ain't firing up today. Never happened before. I'm in the AA but I haven't got homestart, coz if I'm at home, it ain't a problem, right?

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Well I've had a look, but can't find the clips you're on about? It's turning over fine, and I've had jump leads on it, so it ain't the battery. It just doesn't seem to be getting any fuel, or it ain't sparking or sommat.

Push it away from home, then ring the AA

If you know someone who is ok with towing, get them to tow you to Tesco, say you've done your shopping, thats been taken home, you've now come back for your car. It must be a minimum distance from your home though, I think it's quarter mile, check first!0 -
They promoted the soundbites, on radio this morning - guess they must be a bit behind with it.

This is uncanny, I've just got back from Morrisons! Got my boss (top boss!) to tow me there, did me shopping while I waited for the AA to turn up, left it on the front seat for maximum "I've been shopping" effect.
No live feed (under load) to the injectors, apparently. Bodged with live direct from battery, mobile again, minimal expense.
Incidentally, it is 0.25 miles for roadside assistance. According to the AA routemaster, Morrisons is 0.3 miles from my house.
Cheers all,

Car turns over but won't start is generally one of two main problem areas:
-lack of fuel
-lack of spark
Check the obvious things:
- fuel level, is fuel pump operating, is fuel being pressurised, is there a fuel pump relay or has the fuse for the pump blown?
-spark: damp on HT leads, any wires fallen off, check terminals etc
Old cars should start as well as new cars. If they don't then look at replacing ignition components: coil, leads, plugs etc.Happy chappy0
