Cannot find my full driving licence!!

My driving licence was kept at my parent's house. I have recently moved and asked my mum's for my licence and she could not find it instead she found a provisional one which she thought was a full one. It's well over 10 yrs since I took my test and have not been driving recently so there was no need to check the licence in details. It seems it has been mislaid. I am sure DVLA should be able to check my details. It is such a long time, is it possible I did not apply for a full one, gosh I do not think I will pass the test? Any advice, what I need to do, like re-applying for a new one? Thanks

Thanks, I can apply for a replacement but am not sure whether I did get a full one as I find it hard that it has been mislaid. I have taken copies of licence and was surprised to find it says provisional. Is it something I have overlooked!! Is it possible I did not get a full one, is there any way I could find, surely they must have a record when I passed the driving test, I cannot remember the date? I think I will have to ring and find out in case I was never issued with a full licence and was not aware of it. Getting very panicky now, what if they do not have a record of having issued me with a full licence. It has only been brought to light as I was oening a bank account with my licence and CS noticed it says provisional.0

Taken from the Government Web Site;
" If you don't claim your test pass within two years of the date of your test, the driving entitlement in which you gained the test pass will be lost. You'll have to take and pass both parts of the driving test again for that category of vehicle if you wish to have it included on your driving licence. "0 -
Oh, dear, I have read that, I do not know what happened here. I do not think I can go through it again. It must have been an oversight, it is well over 14 years and I cannot remember anything. I also read that you have to send your provisional when you apply for a full one. If that the case, somebody has messed up as I have still got my provision licence with me. I do not think I would have forgotten to send for a full licence, such an important issue.0

I think I have found my driving licence, I was comparing it with my parents' licence who said full on it. Mine does and the one I found there is a date with category B test pass, so it must be the one. Please can anybody check if their licence is about 14 yrs old, whether the type of licence is omitted full or provisonal. Thanks0

for someone with such a bad memory do you think it wise to go out on your own ??;):cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
As soon as you move you should have applied to have the address on your licence changed, failure to do so results in a fine which can be up to £1000 (from memory) so you need to get the address changed if nothing else.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

My M.I.L still has the old paper licence and has never applied for the new euro card 2 part one does she need to (is it law ?) she is 70 in 2011 and will need to renew then but should or does she have to change to new 2 part plastic one .
And just a reminder to all that the new 2 part plastic one are only valid for 10 years so check the date it expires:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
