Just recently my bedroom radiator has started to creak as it warms up and cools down...it sounds like a really loud drip!
It's so loud it's woken my housemate up in the next room and I am normally awake at 4am when it comes on as a result...
Has anyone met this and bar turning off the heating is there anything I can do to stop it and get a good nights beauty sleep?

Thankyou

I doubt you need the beauty sleep
As a first action I would bleed the rads first to make sure there is no air in the system causing vibration.0 -

Are you running your heating 24hrs a day?
This must be costing a lot to run.
Shirley you could switch it off at midnight and on again at 7am or whatever.
Sweet dreams! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
no just a few hours before I get up in the morning and a few hours in the evening.:hello: TTC since 11/090

The creaking is due to expansion and contraction of the pipes as they heat up and cool down. Put some insulating foam around the pipes and this should prevent it0
