I have just received my latest bank statement and have found out that I have been debited by £15,15. This was for a pizza that I had ordered after 11pm from a take away listed on just-eat.co.uk. At the end of the on-line order process there was a message that instructed me to contact the restaurant directly to make sure that the order had gone through. I phoned and eventually cancelled the order with them. When I looked at my statement I was debited for the £15,15 therefore the on-line process must have gone through and I have been charged for food that I have not taken charge of.
I have phoned twice on Friday afternoon to try and get this dealt with and have been given the run-a-round, and have left e-mails. Its a relatively small amount but still irritates me. I don't recommend just-eat.co.uk

have you contacted your bank and asked them about a chargeback?
the information here is a little blurry when you call the restaurant and then just cancel? could this have added enough confusion to explain why it wasn't cancelled from the restaurant to the website?Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
I cancelled because the guy I spoke to on the phone said the transaction had not gone through and I was not comfortable in giving him my card details by telephone. But when I checked my statement lo and behold the transaction had gone through (the one through just-in.co.uk). It was with a debit card so I don't know if I could claim a chargeback.0

They have horrific Customer Service. Basically they don't give a toss if the restaurants screw you over.
I placed an order through them to a local restaurant. The order was 3 hrs late and I had to call several times to chase it up. The staff were beyond rude, and refused to refund. I tried to find a contact number to call Just-eat but they only had email as it was the weekend, you know, when everyone orders takeaway!
Anyway, I got the most pandering, smiley filled, looked-like-it-has-been-written-by-a-ten-year-old-girl reply advising me that Just-eat can't do anything in these circumstances and it was up to me to get a refund from the restaurant if I wasn't happy. I challenged this and all I got back was more:):):):):):) Tough sh*t
:):):):):):).
Tried to get a phone number for a supervisor but was refused. So basically, you have no recourse. Why would i use Just-eat as an intermediary then?
It was an absolute joke. I very strongly advise against using them.0 -
I have previously used this site, one time the order was rejected because the takeaway decided that it was too far to deliver. The website said the refund would take up to 15 days to go through and it never came. Even though their phone lines are advertised to remain open until 11pm they only deal with refund queries between 9am and 5pm. Got a refund eventually after phoning them to sort it out.0

Thanks guys for your responses, I will keep you updated as to whether or not I get a refund, but from what you say it looks doubtful.0

I e-mailed them a few times, and no response, and tried phoning them up two days ago early in the morning (during office hours) and got a machine. Basically I believe it to be very poor service and will chalk it up as a bad experience and never use them again.0
