Sky+ box problem

Hi there,
I moved into a rented house in the summer, bringing my Sky+ box with me. There's a satellite dish on the house here, so it's plugged into the box. Since we moved in we've never been able to record one channel and watch another - I didn't know why but have now found outn that Sky+ box needs 2 connections from the dish into the back of the box so it can record and watch a different channel.
Anyway, now I know this, I'm wondering if there's anything I can get so that I can have 2 connections going into the box from the dish so we can use the Sky+ box as it's meant to be used!!!
It drives the kids mad that we have to watch a channel if we're recording it!
Many thanks.:o
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Have you actually looked at the LNB it might have 2 outputs on it so all you would need is some cable....if not then you just need to buy a new LNB that has 2+outputs on it and obviously more cable.....very simple

    try www.maplin.co.uk

infact here is the link to an LNB that you can use http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=47171
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right

Or you can get a Sky Quad LNB ( 4 outlets . so 2 spare ) from eBay for around a tenner delivered.

This will actually fit your existing dish and will come with all adapters.

Indeed, I agree, as well as the one you linked to at Maplins will not actually fit a standard Sky Dish, I realise that it was just used as an example.. ;)

But at least you'd have a clear conscience since the Maplin LNBs aren't stolen from Sky. The manufacturing cost of an LNB is more than a fiver so go figure.

  • Will these adaptors have to go direct onto the dish?
Sorry, probably dopey question but I haven't a clue!! If they do, will need to get someone in to do that and just cost me more;)

  • just a thought,

does your existing sky cable come through the wall? Will you need to drill another hole through the wall for the other cable or is the existing hole big enough for two?
