update on my halifax issue thread

my first post about this: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1329979

just a quick update, because it gets better & i still don't know where to take this!

- got a text from halifax saying call us immediately. i thought great, some progress? called, just to be 'hassled' and spoke to like crap because i wasn't willing to pay full balance on the spot.

- told them i'd submit financial statement, not paying in full! end of!

- they said they haven't received financial statement?! i told them you had already responded in writing to my complaint accompanying my financial statement, so my pack WAS received.

- got spoke to like crap again, how a complaint is NOT a financial statement. i explained it was in the same envelope, i assume as the complaint got passed to right dept, the financial statement would too! apparently it's my job to chase halifax to make sure they have it in the right dept. don't think so!

- ended call stating they had passed account to blair oliver scott, to stop chasing me for money, and to get their company heirachy sorted asap cos it's crap as it is!

- called up team who responded to complaint saying rather annoyed that 'mikey' from head office was chasing me & speaking to me like crap chasing me for money when you've already given me a default & passed account to blair oliver & scott.

- lady responds with 'your account HASN'T been passed to blair oliver & scott'!

- lady reads up on account, sees i have offered £60pm instead of the recommended £6pm from CAB. says this should be no problem as it's more than generous looking at my financial statement. ?!?!?!?!?!

- also states she's unsure why other lady told me default had been given as nothing on system states that. also that account hasn't been passed to blair olver & scott, and still remains with halifax.

- they are putting official request in for charges/interest to be removed, as that's what i was told would happen.

- direct debit is about to be set up.

i'm holding off as i'm going to ask for all of the above in writing i think. would you recommend that? since i've had so much he-say-she-say already, i could set up a direct debit and it all be 'fake'. saying that, putting it in black & white doesn't really make it worth much, as i have a letter instructing me that a default has been served, and that my account is with a debt collection agency!

what can i do? i'm sick & tired of being treated like this, lied to on a daily basis, and my emotions are going crazy! i was DESTROYED that i had been given a default. i have a fair amount of debt (completely managable), but until this point (with halifax) i've never missed a payment in my life, i believe my credit score to be good, and my banking score is amazing!

i feel they shouldn't get away with this. because i have it in writing, which is more than some people ever get, i feel i could do some damage. along with that & my 'reminder' letter, which really isn't a reminder.
