Telewest what a joke what to do.......

Right where to start, Basically my mother has her tv phone and broadband with telewest and on 19th december a fault occured on the line, an engineer came out just after xmas and said that they will come back on the 12th jan to fix it, anyway i called up for her last week to confirm that they were coming out, anyway surprise surprise nobody turned up so she still has no broadband or home phone line. Also they are paid monthly by direct debit and have made sure that they take there money, anyway mum is really fed up now and wants it sorted but also some sort of compensation as it has been nearly a month now what is the best course of action that she should take now???????????????
