Fungus, Dear friend you are not doing your normally good research.
We are the number one British Port in CONTAINER TRAFFIC not bulk transport.
Thanx for the concern mate but as I have been saying all along Felixstowe is doing very well with a full quay all the time.
I would expect that in November the usual end of year slowdown will reappear and will remain until March or April.

    Oh dear...
"Head of corporate affairs at the port, Paul Davey said because of the recession the new deep-water berths did not need to be ready by spring..."

    Oh dear, oh dear...
"Phase two of the development has been delayed by around five years..."

Looks like the bubble of misguided optimism might finally be ready to burst.

    "Postal ballot
Please could everybody be aware that the postal ballot that is taking place is completely anonymous - the management and union will have no idea at all as to how an individual has voted. This is due to the fact that the company that is conducting this vote have no ties to the union or to the Port Of Felixstowe. The only person who will know how you voted is yourself "
