    is linux no good then
  • I'm sure linux is fine but some people struggle with it. You can't just use windows programs with it. As mentioned it doesn't have a DVD or a CD and even Windows versions won't be any good for games. A normal laptop would be better but even then the cheap ones won't be much good for recent games. Netbooks for for internet and simple tasks.

  • Just for reference:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netbook
A netbook is a light-weight, low-cost, energy-efficient, highly portable laptop suitable for web browsing, email and general purpose applications — primarily noted for its small form factor. Netbooks typically have less processing power than full-featured notebooks and limited ability to run resource-intensive operating systems.[1]

Advent! I'd run a mile!
  • Samsung NC10 is the main contender for the netbook crown but around £322

Looks as though they've pasted a Mac OS X desktop background onto the photo.

    Weird.

If you want to play any but the most basic of games then you don't want a netbook

A netbook is basically for connecting to the net & doing a bit of office work
