Caf! Soleil on 2nd avenue in the 54-56th street region is a good priced American/French and worth loking up on google and then around Times square there is Blue fin for some decent fish and steaks but a livelier crowd and a bar downstars. The lobster platter is truely awesome.:T"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

We ate at a great steak house on 41st, it was called Benjamin's. I would highly recommend it!

New York Bateaux dinner cruise maybe a little priceier than you wish to pay but its a fab experiance one that you will not forget.
Dine and cruise around the island of Manhatten whilst enjoying the sights of the skyline get up close to the Satue of Liberty too. Done this twice and its fab.:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

hi, sorry for not responding earlier, have been away for a few days.
All your suggestions look lush! i wanna go to benjamins PURELY for their cool website and music! the new york bateux would be amazing but i dont think our budget would stretch that far, sadly.
i suppose we are looking to pay approx $60 per head tops and to include wine and for 2 courses... as for food - we eat anything at all. i suppose because we are in NY, american or american italian, tho it really doesnt matter. our hotel is just off times square
thanks for all your suggestions!0 -
Was recommended an Italian i am sure it was called Carmines i think on 44th st large meals large enough to share at great prices. A guy i was talking to says he always goes there as it great value for money.
Or on 26th St try Hill Countrys bbq market. went there but a bit busy for cosey but it was very different and a great night out.
Times sq try Hard Rock Cafe another great night out again though maybe not cosey but well worth a visit and within your budget:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

Not really that great for Valentines Day. But Lombardi's in Little Italy do the best pizza i have every had and as a pizza connoisseur that is saying something.0

Have done this too but wasn't aware they had themed nights. Ours was Caribbean which neither myself or my DH could eat so rather expensive not to be able to eat. Make sure you check it out if you decide to go on it.New York Bateaux dinner cruise maybe a little priceier than you wish to pay but its a fab experiance one that you will not forget.

ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING NEW YORK.. look.. there is a thread dedicated to the greatest city in the world...
just because it is going to be valentines, doesn't mean you can't read through the many many many restaurants that are mentioned in that thread...0 -
