does the insulation properties of it 'dissapear' after a while. ie does the stuff thats used maybe clump or otherwise go inferior?Mine was done when new 17 years ago but I didnt know until I was going to get it done a couple of years ago and a test hole was drilled. But my house is very cold and wondered if the properties wear off after a certain amount of years?

my neighbours have just had it (semi) although the house is nearly 100 years old. I didn't even thinks houses like that could have it done???
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

My parents (timber framed house IIRC) had it done this year (for free - parents are elderly? Some sort of benefit/scheme) and they inserted lots of tiny polystrene type beads into the cavities by large airblowing tubes. Has made a big difference, and still allows the house to 'breathe'.

No, it'll last the lifetime of the house. If it was in from new, it would have been built in, which also reduces or eliminates the chances of morter on ties bridging the cavity.
