credit card fraud-who's liable ?

My wife has recently had £3600 + fees put onto her asda credit card in one day. Apparently this was all done on an internet gambling website. The credit card company seem to think that my 13 year old son was involved because my wife bought him a 79p i-tune. Can they insist we pay this amount? Incidentally, our son did not use the card on any occasion.

Should be able to trace the activity to verify pc used for transaction.0

I had my debit card hit for over £4k on www.jaxx.com earlier this year. The bank (Halifax) recognised it as a regular site for fraudsters to use and I got my cash back with no charges, eventually.
If you dispute the charges they really should investigate, or ask the gambling company to prove the transactions were genuine. For your son's sake, I hope they're not...
Good luck.
/Edit - I just noticed you said your son didn't use the card - sorry.0
