Very upset with play.com.
Ordered a £600 TV on the 12 Dec from Play.com. It appears as 'posted' online on the 14th Dec.
We made sure that someone was in all week but there's been no sign of it.
Play.com say that it was posted but there is no tracking number. Parcel Force say they have not got or seen any items for our address in their system (Play.com said that it was sent via Parcel Force).
We ordered a lot of stuff and everything else has arrived. We got 'your item has been posted' emails for everything -apart from the TV-.
They are unable to check if anything was sent out from the warehouse and told me to complete an 'item not arrived' form, -post- it back (there is no fax) and they will investigate. They cannot give me phone numbers for the warehouse or anyone who could investigate this further. I just have the feeling that it was never sent and that we will be without a TV for xmas (we have bought the kids a games console too).
This is all frustrating and I'm finding it quite upsetting. I know there are worse things happening in the world but I can't help feeling like this.

Seems a little lackadaisical of them that they cant trace it and its certainly not your problem that their tracking systems are rubbish
I suggest you stop messing about with them. Just ask for a refund as your entitled to do. I would suggest doing that in writing.
I assume you paid by credit card so if they do cause problems for you in getting your money back then you can always claim back your £600 from the credit card company"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Thanks. They won't refund or send another without me completing the form and posting it back, and that will all take a while. Fair enough but still annoying at this time of year.
After experiencing this, I've searched around and seen that a few people have recommended to not order big stuff from play.com. Shame because they've always been great with small stuff. They need to sort out their tracking sustem urgently.
I'd still like to get the same TV since it's a good one at a good price - unfortunately, play.com were the only place to have it at that price.
We are now resigned that it is unlikely we'll get one before xmas.0 -
While it is not ideal why not sign up with Freecycle post a message asking if anyone has one knocking around they are getting rid of (their pressie might of arrived early) and at least you'll hav a TV for Xmas then. My sister got one on Freecycle - we gave our last one away on there too - not perfect but it'll get you through till you get this sorted or can get another one and then you can give it to another Freecycler. I also bought one locally on eBay for a whopping £8 so that might be an option to get you through too. I hope you manage to get it sorted out. I've had a nightmare with a courier too but not to the tune of £600. Don't let it spoil your Xmas though - beg or borrow for a short while to get you through.0

don't you already have a TV in the house, let the kids have that for the games console, save watching all the repeats0 -
Have got a telly but it is in the last throes of life. The kids are well trained on hitting it to restore the picture when it blanks, although the varying sound quality/volume is harder to fix.
Will phone play.com again today.0 -
UPDATE
Just phoned them - it turns out that the TV wasn't in stock! Why couldn't they have said that when I ordered it? Why was it marked as 'posted'?! No answers - just a 'sorry'.
They have processed a refund.

fingers crossed you get a TV in time, why not have a look on ebay see if anyone is trying to get rid of their old one local to you.
I just picked up a 32" CRT does me fine and only 50 quid, I've never liked the picture quality of LCD or Plasma unless you spend 1000s0 -
final update: Ordered a new TV from Amazon on Sunday and it arrived this morning - very fast and efficient delivery (and fully tracked!). Kids (and adults) very happy.
Summary - 1) don't order big stuff from Play.com until they sort out their stock/order system. 2) Amazon is great - thanks Amazon!0
