bought a disabled ramp & company want to charge me more than the quote
Legally it depends what you have in writing, if you have a 'quote' then you only have to pay them what they have quoted. If what you have in writing is an 'estimate' then it's a bit more of a grey area and you would have to agree on a final figure. If you are purely going by what is on the website, I would imagine these are guide prices only.
Not sure about the £25 you paid for someone else to help out, you can't expect them to pay this unless they refused to finish the job, and while it seems like a good idea at the time it can open up a whole can of worms later on. I would have insisted on them coming back to finish the job, if something goes wrong with the ramp a few months down the line the company could well turn round and say that it wasn't fully installed by them therefore they won't remedy the problem.
Can you post a link to the website and then it may be easier to offer advice?
