Family car- what do you think of this
Having a baby shortly , and have a 2 door clio. Want to buy a new car , I have 2k and will take 1 k on credit.
What do you think of this one:

I could get it for about 3.5k which is at the top of my budget.

Hi rammster,
My daughter got herself a Citroen Picasso. Good to drive, easy access now with the bump and later with some shopping ,plenty of space for buggies and she doesn't have to bend too much to lift the baby into the baby seat. Check how many turn up outside junior schools or nurseries. Not just her opinion obviously !
Good luck for the future.0 -

Hiya, you have so many choices for that type of money and age. It all depends on what other than a big boot you are looking for. Examples I have found for 3-3.5k with under 50k on the clock are:
Peugeot 307 Diesel (05)
Renault Megane Scenic Petrol/Diesel (05)
Citreon Picasso (05) Petrol
Citroen C4 (55) Petrol
Renault Laguna Diesel (55)
Fiat Punto (55)
The list goes on!!! Admittedly you will get lots of toys on the Mazda (e.g. Cruise control), but you could get a newer car for your money...
The choice is yours!!!0 -
Or just buy the Mazda and be confident in the reliability of the car.:rolleyes:0

I'm not a car expert but I would suggest something smaller than 2l to save on running costs.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

what if its a heavy car and the 2.0 is underpowered? a lot of cars with bigger engines can be more efficient than smaler engines in the same car....work permit granted!0 -
what is wrong with the clio? it's often easier to get babies into their car seats if you have a two door car and the front seat folds right up, you can then get the baby in from the front rather than via the side which you have to do in a 4 door car?
I have had both 2 and 4 door cars and when they are babies it was much easier in a two door car IMO, I had a little honda civic and it was fab even with it's limited boot space
if you still want to get a bigger car then I can highly recommend a pug 307, nice and roomy with loads of boot space0
